Cale's history is rather unknown, but he somehow became influenced by Talpa's promise of power and glory much like Anubis in earlier history. He is a brash man, not quite filled with arrogance as Anubis, but willing to do anything to get what Talpa desires. He is unquestionably obedient to Talpa, expressing a type of true loyalty not commonly seen in the other Warlords. He had been given the armor of Corruption and Darkness with a nodatchi for a weapon. His armor is a representative of the Winter season, and has a connection to wolves, to which he uses his armor's powers to corrupt these, normally shy; keep to themselves, creatures into becoming blood-thirsty with a taste for Ronin Warrior. His sword absorbs light and turns the light into darkness. When he releases his attack "Black Lightning Slash" it appear as tendrils of black ribbons with lightning that ensnare its target, causing them paralyzing and electrifying agony.
Cale's first solo battle appears when Sage and Mia head out to find Kento in episode 7 of Splitting the Stone. It is this episode where his cruelty and willingness to use anyone to achieve his goals is seen, as demonstrated by capturing Mia and using her as bait to lure Sage out of hiding. What he didn't know was that Sage and Mia had agreed to this setup, so that she could distract Cale away from Sage who needed time to bust Kento out of a large dome like rock. At first glance, one might expect Cale's main target was Sage, but as the episode progresses it is learned he had a different target in mind with a crueler agenda. His own arrogance and cruelty would cause his defeat at Sage's hands
Despite his obedience to Talpa, Cale has a hard time following Anubis, only begrudgingly doing so under Talpa's orders. This doesn't stop him from constantly mocking the younger man's failures to defeat the Ronin Warriors, a sideshow of his own arrogance since he too had failed multiple times to defeat the Ronins. His main rival is Sage of the Halo, as the two are often seen combating against one another throughout the series. When Talpa began favoring Kayura more than the other Warlords, Cale felt jealous, and began questioning his own obedience to the demon, even going as far to challenge Kayura for authority. When it became clear that Talpa did not truly care for him, Cale joined in on turning against him, siding with the Ronin Warriors in defeating the demon and helping to put an end to the tyranny.
