The Ancient One is a mysterious figure that appears at random to help or guide the Ronin Warriors in their battle against Talpa. His name is never given in the dubbed version of the Ronin Warriors, but flashbacks show a time when he came up against Talpa one thousand years ago. It was the Ancient One who first defeated Talpa and split his armor into nine armors, imbuding each of them with a different virtue. The Ancient One is often seen wearing a straw hat that covers half his face and carrying a shajuko that he focuses his mystical powers through. It is unknown to the extent these powers are, but they include "shield banishment", armor creating, and sending visions/memories of a past to a recipent of his choosing. The Ancient One is powerful im his own right, but even he does not have the power to permanently destroy Talpa, which is why he created the nine armors. Only five of these would withstand Talpa's evil influence and take up arms against him. The Ancient One is seen as a guiding force throughout the Ronins Warriors' war against Talpa and it is his influence that enables them to strengthen their spirits, which in the end allows them to fully take on Talpa.
